This role will emphasize identifying potentially transformative scientific advancements emerging from China- and Asia-Pacific- based sources. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with internal regional and global stakeholders from R&D, Commercial, and BD functions, as well as the executive leadership team.As a member of the Business Development Team, the successful candidate will report to the Vice President of Search & Evaluation and will be expected to be an effective team leader, scientifically motivated, be well networked within the Chinese biotech community and display in-depth scientific and strategic knowledge of oncology industry. An in-depth understanding of Search & Evaluation best-practices, as well as an ability to align across a globally diverse team is critical.The primary responsibility of the position will be to oversee China-and Asia-Pacific- based asset- and technology-based search across strategically prioritized areas. Further responsibilities include leading high-profile, cross-functional teams through early and late-stage technical due diligences, and may also be expected to contribute to the transaction process.Essential Functions of the Job:Working in close alignment with the VP of Search & Evaluation, SVP Global BD and Global Head of R&D, provide individual contribution and strategic leadership to the search and evaluation process, ensuring successful delivery toward organizational S&E goals in a timely and efficient manner.Be able to represent BeOne Medicines externally and position BeOne as a partner-of-choice to potential business partners both in individual company interactions and in broad partnering showcase contexts.Establish and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders.Proactively source high-quality assets, companies and technologies that align with BeOne’s therapeutic area strategies and portfolio priorities. While the position is expected to be primarily focused on China-based opportunity search, it may also include global sourcing.Oversee cross-functional diligence teams to fully interrogate potential opportunities and ensure robust analyses of available datasets.
